Rules

The rules of the AstroExpanse test universe: one account per person, no pushing, report bugs instead of using them, and keep the chat civil.

AstroExpanse is a game of strategy against other people, and it only works if everyone plays by the same rules. They are short.

One account per person

  • You may have one account. A second account to scout, to feed resources to or to park a fleet on is not allowed.
  • Don’t share your account or play someone else’s. If you are away, use vacation mode.
  • No pushing: don’t send resources or ships to another account you control, or let another player’s account feed yours. Helping another player is fine; one person playing two empires is not.

Bugs: report them, don’t use them

This is a test, so there will be bugs. If you find one that gives you an advantage (resources from nowhere, a fleet that can’t be hit, a timer that never runs out), report it in the game or on Discord. A reported bug that gets fixed earns you the Bug Hunter title.

Using a bug for gain, or telling others how to, gets the account suspended. If you are not sure whether something is a bug, ask first.

Chat

  • No harassment, threats, hate speech or slurs, and no spam or advertising.
  • Trash talk about the game is part of the game. Going after a person is not.
  • Moderators can mute you in chat or suspend your account.

The test universe

  • The test universe ends in December. Your account, your looks and your titles carry over to the launch universe; your planets and fleets don’t.
  • While it runs, the universe may be patched or rebalanced. We announce changes in the game and on Discord.

When something goes wrong

If you think a moderator got it wrong, or you want to report another player, write to us on Discord or at [email protected]. More answers are in the FAQ.
